Following an proposal of the Austrian geologists Franz Ritter von Hauer (1822-1899) and Eduard von Mojsisovics (1839-1907) the International Geological Congress at its meeting in Bologna 1882 decided to publish a general geological map of Europe at a scale of 1:1,500,000 in 49 sheets. Heinrich Ernst Beyrich (1815 - 1896) and Wilhelm Hauchecorne (1828 - 1900) were entrusted with the execution of this map series. Franz Heinrich August Beyschlag (1856-1935) was involved from 1893 onwards. The first complete e...
The map shows a probabilistic identification of rockfall source areas for El Hierro Island, prepared with the combination of multiple statistical models. To run the models, we have used observed source areas as dependent variable and a set of thematic information as independent variables (e.g., morphometric parameters derived from the DTM, lithological information that considers the mechanical behaviour of the rocks).
The map show the number of trajectories that pass through each pixel.

Iso-content maps of Cerium (Ce), one of the chemical elements.obtained in the Geochemical Atlas of Spain Project, distributed in stream sediments (14,864 samples), superficial soils (0-20 cm.) (13,505 samples) and deeper soils (20-40 cm.) (7,682 samples). The results of the chemical analysis are shown in two types: total dissolution of the sample with 4 acids and partial dissolution with aqua regia. With the analytical results of all the sampled points, an isocontent map is made with adjustment to a square...
