Datengrundlage ist die von der Genehmigungsbehörde bereitgestellte Information und das im Rahmen des INTERREG IV Projekts GeoMol entwickelte geologische 3D Modell für das Pilotgebiet Oberösterreich – Oberbayern als einem von 6 Schwerpunktgebieten. Verantwortliche Geologische Dienste für die Datenhaltung, -verarbeitung und die 3D-Modellierung sind für Oberösterreich die Geologische Bundesanstalt (GBA) und für Oberbayern das Bayerische Landesamt für Umwelt (LfU) – Geologischer Dienst. Die Verfügbarkeit der Grundlagendaten ist durch nationale Datenzugangsgesetze für Untergrunddaten der jeweiligen Länder geregelt.
