Bedrock, scale 1:250,000
The bedrock data shows the prevalence of rocks and rock structures on the earth's surface. The data in Berggrunn N250/Bedrock 1:250.000 is mainly based on the nationwide, printed bedrock geological map series at a scale of 1: 250,000. The entire data set is later harmonized across map sheet boundaries and updated with newer available map data. The data set provides information on the geological properties of the rocks and structures (including main rock type, age of formation (genesis) and tectonic main unit for rock surfaces and structure names and kinematic type for structures).

Data Quality
Kartleggingen bygger på feltobservasjoner, analyser av innsamlede prøver og tolkning av geofysiske data. \\nDatasettet er basert på trykte berggrunnskart for landets fylker, i målestokk 1:250.000. Innsamling av data/feltarbeide er utført på kartgrunnlag med høyere kvalitet (ofte N50). Rissefolier fra det trykte kartet er skannet og vektorisert i Microstation og overført til ArcInfo-format, hvor datasettet er tildelt flere egenskaper, avledede tema i henhold til SOSI-standarden.
