BROloket
BROloket - data and models from the Dutch key registry of the (shallow) subsurface. You can use BROloket to access and download online subsurface data and models falling under the Dutch Key Registry of the Subsurface Act. Administrative bodies have the statutory task of both supplying this data and using it themselves when working in the subsurface. We make the data and models available on behalf of the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning.

The Key Register of the Subsurface (Basisregistratie Ondergrond, BRO) is to become the central database containing all public data on the Dutch subsoil. The BRO Act, which came into effect on
1 January 2018, requires that source data owners provide and use soil and underground data in
a digital form. The requirements will be expanded step by step, by which more and more data of multiple subsurface domains will be recorded and made publicly accessible as part of our open data policy.

Data Quality
On 1 January 2018, the National Key Registry of the Subsurface came into effect. This imposed the statutory obligation upon all municipalities, provinces, water boards and government agencies to submit the first three registration objects to the National Facility via the portal for Source Data Owners. This relates to objects with added value for the implementation of works in the physical living environment, for example the construction and maintenance of roads, houses and flood protection elements.
