Potential for high-temperature aquifer storage  Warming up

This set of maps shows the potential for HT-ATES in the Netherlands, for eight different formations in the shallow (0-800m) subsurface. The maps are created based on the hydrogeological model REGIS II v2.2 (www.dinoloket.nl), ThermoGIS v2.1 (www.thermogis.nl) and a set of (sub)surface criteria as set up by the consortium partners.

Data Quality

Geological input for the potential maps for the formations PE, PZWA, KI, MS, OO, BR comes from REGIS II v.2.2 (www.dinoloket.nl) which is a hydrogeological model based on the Digital Geological Model (DGM v2.2). For the NLFFS and RBMDL formations comes from ThermoGIS v2.1 (www.thermogis.nl). The resulting criteria maps were created in Petrel (https://www.slb.com/products-and-services/delivering-digital-at-scale/software/petrel-subsurface-software/petrel)
