GEOELEC - Geographical Information System: Geothermal Electricity Potential in Europe

This dataset quantifies and maps the technical and economic potential for electricity production using Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) in Europe. It includes a 3D temperature model (to 10 km depth), techno-economic scenarios for 2020, 2030, and 2050, and spatially explicit estimates of levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and resulting economic potential. It was created as part of the GEOELEC project, co-funded by the EU IEE programme (EACI). (IEE/10/321/SI2.591109).
