Groundwater investigation and analysis of mining implications - Carotage correlations for hydrogeological purposes, East Hungary

During the modelling, a total of 593 deep boreholes were stratigraphically evaluated along correlation sections. During the evaluation, the Quaternary sequence, which is usually treated as a single (model) layer in regional geological modelling, was subdivided into 11 layers. The settlement depths of the identified layer boundaries were determined per borehole (593*11=6523 data points), and the resulting layer data table was converted into a format that can be imported by 3D modelling environments (Jewel, Surfer, Modflow, Feflow).
