Abstract:

Løsmassedatene viser med polygoner/arealer utbredelsen av løsmassetyper (også benevnt jordarter), klassifisert etter deres dannelsesmåte. Linje- og punktsymboler viser mindre løsmasseforekomster, samt landformer og andre geologiske observasjoner. Dataene viser hvilken løsmassetype som dominerer i de øverste meterne av terrengoverflaten, mens andre løsmassetyper kan opptre dypere. Dataene viser også arealer med fjell uten løsmassedekke. Eksempler på landformer vist med linjesymboler er raviner, skredkanter og elvenedskjæringer. Punktsymboler brukes eksempelvis for å angi fjellblotninger, kornstørrelser, små landformer mm. Datasettet dekker områder i Norge der det er utført løsmassekartlegging hovedsakelig i målestokk 1:100.000 - 1:500.000, men andre målestokker forekommer. Løsmassedataenes romlige nøyaktighet samsvarer med kartlagt målestokk.
