Este conjunto de datos se ha creado por la combinación, generalización y vectorización de los mapas del substrato rocoso y de los sedimentos del Cuaternario a escalas 1:200.000 y 1:50.000. Las áreas del mapas corresponden a unidades por edad, genéticas y lotológicas de sedimentos y de rocas que yacen directamente bajo la capa de suelo. De hecho, este mapa es un mapa de sedimentos del Cuaternario que incluye un pequeño conjunto de áreas con afloramientos del substrato.
