Anomalie Bouguera są definiowane jako różnica pomiędzy wartością pomiaru siły ciężkości w danym punkcie Ziemi, a normalną siła ciężkości obliczoną dla tego samego punktu przy założeniu, że skorupa ziemska jest jednorodna. Mapa pokazuje z jednej strony ujemne anomalie regionalne związane z Alpami i dodatnie anomalie związane ze strefą Sesia-Finero.
