Abstract:
Geologisk kart over Sveits i M 1:500,000 dekker hele Sveits og tilstøtende deler av nabolandene. Det gir en oversikt over fordelingen av de overfladiske geologiske formasjonene (berggrunnen) i Sveits. Det er derfor et viktig virkemiddel for å bedre forståelsen av vårt miljø i sammenheng med bærekraftig utvikling. Det er også et viktig hjelpemiddel for utdanning innen miljø- og geofag, samt for identifisering og forutsigelse av naturfarer. Den forrige utgaven er mer enn 25 år gammel, og det nye kartet viser et betydelig forbedret detaljnivå. Tillegg av nye data og revisjon av eldre geologiske registreringer gjort i løpet av de siste tiårene har ført til betydelige forbedringer i den nye versjonen. Takket være en revidert layout, er den detaljerte tegnforklaringen nå enklere å lese og derfor lettere å forstå.
