Abstract:
Gagnasafn (GDB) NI_J5v_Surtsey: Surtsey Jarðfræðikort 1:5.000 [Surtsey Geological map 1:5.000]. Jarðfræðikort af Surtsey gefur nákvæma mynd af jarðmyndunum eyjarinnar. Einnig er sýnt hvaða breytinar hafa orðið á eynni síðan gosum lauk. Fyrsta útgáfa sýnir eyjuna 1998, en önnur útgáfa eyjuna 2004. Surtsey var lýst friðland árið 1965 og náttúruminjastaður á heimsminjaskrá UNESCO árið 2008 vegna þeirra rannsókna sem þar fara fram. [The geological map of Surtsey gives an accurate picture of the island´s geological formations. It also shows changes that have taken place since the eruption ceased. The first edition shows the island in 1998, the second in 2004. Surtsey was declared a nature reserve in 1965 and a World Heritage site in 2008 in order to conserve it for specialised research.]

Jarðfræðikortið unnið á NÍ 1999-2000. Kortið var endurskoðað 2004-2006. Kortlagt var í Surtsey 2004, loftmynd og kortagrunnur unnin hjá Loftmyndum ehf. 2004-2005. Surtsey-jarðfræðikort, 2. útgáfa 2006 var prentað í tengslum við tilnefningu á heimsminjaskrá og var hluti af skýrslunni "Nomination of Surtsey for the UNESCO World Heritage List", sem var prentuð í janúar 2007 (https://surtsey.is/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Surtsey_Nomination_Report_2007_72dpi.pdf ).
