Study on the spreading, composition and utilization of eruptive rocks in the Republic of Srpska

Тhe Study describes all deposits of volcanic rocks, explored to be used as technical stone, as well as their spreading, prospective for detailed explorations. Depending on the structural-textural characteristics, volcanic rocks could be utilazed as broken and profiled stones, crushed stones of different granulation, used for railroads, roads and concrete, as well as architectural (decorative) stones (interiors, exterior, sculptural stone etc.). The most commonly exploited rocks here are diabase and serpentinite, than gabro and rarely peridotite. The degree of the exploration of these resources is not at a satisfying level yet.

Data Quality

The study on the spreading, composition, and utilization of eruptive rocks in the territory of the Republic of Srpska was conducted in accordance with the Long-term Program for the Development of Basic Geological Research of the Republic of Srpska. After collecting the available documentation and consolidating the data on the results of all previous investigations of mineral resources in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, a graphical processing followed, all with the aim of promoting these significant resources through the aforementioned Study.
