Unit heat output maps for 1800 h of heat pump operation per year at a depth of 40 MBGL

Maps showing average values of specific heat extraction rate for 1800 h of heat pump operation per year, expressed in units of W/m, for a depth interval of 0-40 m.
Maps were developed based on empirical linear calculation formulas according to Sanner, 1999, in accordance with guidelines for ground source heat pumps design, execution and acceptance of installations, published by The Polish Organisation for the Development of Heat Pump Technology (PORT PC), “PORT PC. Wytyczne projektowania, wykonania i odbioru instalacji z pompami ciepła. Część 1. Dolne źródła do pomp ciepła. Wydanie pierwsze 01/2013, Kraków”.
Maps were carried out within the framework of the project funded by the National Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund entitled: “Assessment of energy potential and environmental conditions of shallow geothermal” carried out in 2017-2022.
DISCLAIMER for public use: The “Unit heat output maps qv [W/m] for 1800 h of heat pump operation per year at depths of 40 m BGL” as polygon layer is the result of geostatistical calculations and, by definition, represents only an approximate visualization (image) of actual conditions. Because of that the above mentioned layer does not replace the detailed local analysis conducted for the investment (location) at the stage of detailed geological site investigations and preparation or other expert studies. The above mentioned layer has been developed on the basis of simplified empirical linear calculation formulas and can be used only for ground source heat pumps (GSHP) installations of the power below 20 kW and with heating mode only.
