Geological Map of the Slovak Republic at scale 1:50,000

The map provides basic information on the geological structure of the territory of Slovakia. The basic activities of the State Geological Institute of Dionýz Štúr (SGIDS) include the compilation and publication of geological maps and accompanying text explanatory notes. The map was created by merging regional geological maps at a scale of 1:50,000, which have their own specific legend valid for the given region. It was therefore necessary to create a common unified legend valid for the whole territory and to build conversion tables into it.
The geological map offers both the scientific and the broad lay public the opportunity to become acquainted with the rocks on which we walk or on which agricultural crops are grown.
The map contains 3 data sets - point, line and polygon.
