Para la ejecución de los modelos se han utilizado las áreas fuente observadas como variable dependiente y un conjunto de información temática como variables independientes (por ejemplo, parámetros morfométricos derivados del MDT, información litológica que considera el comportamiento mecánico de las rocas) The map shows a probabilistic identification of rockfall source areas for El Hierro Island, prepared with the combination of multiple statistical models. To run the models, we have used observed source areas as dependent variable and a set of thematic information as independent variables (e.g., morphometric parameters derived from the DTM, lithological information that considers the mechanical behaviour of the rocks). El mapa muestra la probabilidad de que cada píxel sea un área de origen de desprendimiento de rocas y puede utilizarse como entrada para la modelización regional de desprendimientos de rocas en El Hierro (Islas Canarias). Como variables independientes se han utilizado las siguientes informaciones temáticas: ángulo de pendiente, curvatura, litología y densidad de diques. El ángulo de la pendiente y la curvatura se han calculado a partir del MDE de 5 metros derivado de los datos LIDAR proporcionados por el Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN-CNIG). La información litológica, se deriva del mapa geológico del Servicio Geológico de España a escala 1:25000. The following thematic information have been used as independent variables: slope angle, curvature, lithology, and dyke density. Slope angle and curvature were calculated from the 5-meter DEM derived from LIDAR data provided by the National Geographic Institute (IGN-CNIG). The lithology information, derives from the geological map of the Geological Survey of Spain at 1:25000 scale. 50000
