The basis for preparation of this Metallogenic Map is the Formational Geological Map of the same scale which was created on the basis of the Basic Geological Map of SFRY 1:100 000, the Geological Map of the Republic of Srpska 1:300 000, the Map of Mineral Resources 1:300 000 and the archive of the Geological Survey of the Republic of Srpska. There is also the Interpreter for this map. Металогенетска карта представља подлогу за оцјену рудне потенцијалности и перспективности одређене територије са циљем повећања степена економичности и ефективности извођења будућих геолошких истраживања металичних и неметаличних минералних сировина и чврстих фосилних горива Републике Српске. Подлога за израду Металогенетске карте Републике Српске је Формациона геолошка карта исте размјере која је урађена на основу Основне геолошке карте СФРЈ 1:100 000, Геолошке карте Републике Српске 1:300 000, Карте минералних сировина Републике Српске 1:300 000 и архиве Републичког завода за геолошка истраживања. For the creation of the Metallogenic Map of the Republic of Srpska 1:300 000 the Manual was used, which prescribed guidelines for the graphical representation of zones of spatial distribution of metallogenic or mineralogenic units. As outlined in the Manual, the creation of the Metallogenic Map of the Republic of Srpska 1:300 000 was conducted in three phases: The first phase involved data collection, synthesis, and analysis, the second phase pertained to the production of the graphical part of the map, while the third phase encompassed the development of the Interpreter for the Metallogenic Map of the Republic of Srpska 1:300 000. Металогенетска карта Републике Српске 1:300 000 и пратећи Тумач урађени су у складу са Дугорочним програмом развоја основних геолошких истраживања Републике Српске. За израду Металогенетске карте Републике Српске 1:300 000 коришћено је Упутство којим су прописане смјернице за графички приказ зона просторног распрострањења металогенетских односно минерагенетских јединица. Како је Упутством предвиђено, израда Металогенетске карте Републике Српске 1:300 000 се вршила у три фазе: Прва фаза рада обухватила је прикупљање, синтезу и анализу података, друга фаза рада се односи на израду графичког дијела карте док је трећа фаза обухватила израду Тумача Металогенетске карте Републике Српске 1:300 000.
