The dataset is based on SGU's mineral resources database (“Mineralresursdatabas” that contains point data on mineral occurrences and deposits), as well as compilations of tonnage and grade data from SGU's ore (“Malm”) database. MR.Mineralresurser innehåller rikstäckande information om mineralresurser i Sverige i syfte att uppfylla Inspires dataspecifikation för tema Mineralresurser. Datamängden är framtagen och harmoniserad enligt specifikationer från olika EU-projekt, bland annat Minerals4EU och ProSUM och innehåller information om mineralfyndigheter, gruvor, gruvavfall och produktion. Datamängden baseras på SGUs mineralresursdatabas (punktuppgifter om mineral och bergartsförekomster), samt kompletterande sammanställningar av bland annat metallhalter och tonnage för större fält av mineralfyndigheter från SGUs malmdatabas.
